List of textbook homework for Math 291, spring 2003

Text Calculus (Early Transcendentals), by James Stewart, 4th edition, Brooks/Cole Publishing Co., 1999. There's also a thinner book, Multivariable Calculus with the same {author | edition | publisher}, containing mostly the chapters we will cover but the chapter numbering is changed. So the big book's chapters {12,13,14,15,16} become the thinner book's chapters {13,14,15,16,17}. Note Odd-numbered problems have bare answers or hints in the back of the book. The webpage hotmath.org has links to hints and solutions for many problems in the first 13 chapters of Stewart's book. Comments We should cover essentially all sections listed. I may sometimes skip a section and return to it later. Class attendance is essential. Meeting times & places All classes are 4:30-5:50 (sixth period). Classes meet in SEC 212 on Monday and Wednesday and in SEC 217 on Thursday except when otherwise noted (such as Thursday, 1/30, when we will meet in ARC 116, the X-term "lab" inside the Busch Campus Computing Center).
