### Math 291, fall 2002: work to be handed in

Workshop problems for workshop #9 are due on Revised
due date!**Monday, December
2**. Also please send in your review problem solutions, and any
suggestions you have for the formula sheet.

Workshop problems for workshop #8 are due on **Wednesday, November 13**.

Students should send me e-mail by **9 AM Wednesday, 11/6,** and
tell me what problems they would like me to do in class from sections
15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4, 15.7, 15.8, and 15.9.

**For Monday, October 28** Please hand in two
problems from workshop #4. You should have read about Lagrange
multipliers and considered the problems assigned. Please begin reading
chapter 15: 15.1, 15.2, and 15.3.

**For Monday, October 21** Please hand in #54 on
page 963. Please read
section 14.8 and look at
the appropriate problems.

**For Monday, October 7** Two problems from workshop #4 are
due. Also please hand in 14.2: 9, 13; 14.3: 64, 75. Please read
sections 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, and 14.4. You might even look at 14.5. Do
the appropriate problems.

**For Monday, September 23** Review the textbook
homework problems for sections 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4, 12.5, 13.1,
13.2, 13.3, and 13.4. I will try to answer questions about any
problems from the list of these. Then I will give an
open book/open notes short quiz asking you to solve two or three of
these problems. Of course you may submit any solutions you have
already written, and/or you may copy from your notes any work you care
to.

**Due Wednesday, September 25** Please hand in
workshop #3, done either in groups or individually.

**Due Wednesday, September 18** Finish reading
chapter 12 of the text.

Please hand in workshop #2, as done by groups of
students. Please also hand in these problems: 12.3:63, 12.4: 41,
12.5:43.

**Due Monday, September 9** Begin reading
chapter 12 of the text.

Please hand in both problems in workshop #1. I
would like students to hand in *individual* responses to the
workshop problems. Please also hand in these
problems: 12.1:41, 12.2:33.
