The problems in the list below should be handed in at the class meeting on the due date. The list below gives both the USA Edition numbers (the official text listed above and on reserve in the Rutgers Mathematical Sciences Library) and the International Edition numbers (a text published in India and not officially for sale in the USA) of the graded homework exercises. Please use the USA edition numbers on your submitted write-ups.

In addition to being mathematically correct, your write-ups are expected to show a high level of clarity and completeness. You cannot prove a general mathematical assertion by a single numerical example. (Of course, one specific counter-example suffices to disprove an assertion.)

LATE HOMEWORK IS NOT ACCEPTED.

Academic Honesty: The homework you submit for grading should be your own solutions to the problems. Do not copy other student's work or allow other students to copy your work.
